This weekend, God impressed Philippians 4:8-9 on my heart. This verse has come back to me over and over again after reading what Elizabeth George said about this verse in the book Loving God with All Your Mind. She pointed out that we should only be thinking of the things that God says to. I find myself dwelling on what is going wrong instead of the things I need to praise. I think it has helped me to get through my days with a better heart. I can't think about what could be but the things that are. I hope this verse blesses your life as much as it has mine. Each version I listed below has a different words to mean the same thing but they each hit a different area of my life.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious-the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
