Heartbreak

It is such heartbreak to watch people suffer. There is suffering everywhere. Whether it is the man on the street that wants another drop of alcohol to keep going or the children in Africa. What can we do to help? Have compassion. Be generous. If God wants you to give money, give money. If it is volunteering at battered women's shelter, do it. If it is just your words, do it.

God wants us to be uncomfortable here on this earth so we will desire to be with him. It is our desire to be in heaven that pushes us to work for him here. We need to do his work here so his kingdom will grow bigger in heaven. If only we could get glimpses of the spiritual realm so we can see what effect a smile will have. We need to give compassion, a touch and our hearts to people around us with abandon.
